A day late but better than not at all, I think! I just got finished perusing my favorite guilty pleasure that keeps me in touch with the "real" happenings at home (pinkisthenewblog...have I mentioned this before? Probably, because I'm addicted. Check out the Olsen twins Halloween costume...too funny) and realized the best thing about Halloween here. NO CANDY! It's fantastic. No Hershey's Miniatures or KitKats or snack sized Snickers laying around everywhere you go. No Reese's Peanut Butter cups or Sweetarts. My teeth and my waistline are liking it here. The only problem would be the sweets table at work has no moved to right behind me. Literally, I roll back one push and there is a table filled with various baked treats (a girl at work bakes cookies every night...I kid you not) and omiyage. Omiyage is a big thing here. Whenever you go away anywhere, you have to bring back sweets for your co-workers (as well as friends and family). I've been told that it's so important in Japanese companies that sometimes people spent their entire holidays buying omiyage and have no time for the actual holiday!
